Welcome to Jordan! Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport where your complimentary transfer takes you to your 4-star hotel. In the evening around 6:00 PM, meet your tour guide and fellow travelers at an informal welcome meeting. The rest of the evening is yours to explore Amman's lively Rainbow Street or join the optional group dinner.

Follow your expert guide on an included city tour of Amman. Visit the ancient Citadel (Jebel al-Qala'a) and the magnificent Roman Amphitheatre. Head north to Ajloun to explore the castle ruins, then continue to the ancient city of Jerash with its remarkably preserved colonnaded streets, Oval Plaza, Temple of Artemis, and Hadrian's Arch. Return to Amman for the evening.

Rise early for a desert sunrise. In the afternoon, journey to Petra. Check into your hotel just 150 meters from Petra's entrance gate.

A full day to explore Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Enter through the narrow Siq, a 1.2-kilometer gorge flanked by 80-meter cliffs. Explore the Street of Facades, Roman Amphitheatre seating 8,500, Royal Tombs, and hike up to the Monastery (Ad-Deir) for panoramic views.

Depart Petra and stop at Shobak Castle (Montreal Castle), a 12th-century Crusader fortress dramatically perched on a hilltop. Included lunch at the Dead Sea before continuing to Amman.

Trip Information
All visitors to Jordan need a visa. UK, USA, Australia, NZ, Canada, EU and South Africa citizens can get a visa on arrival for 40 JOD. The Jordan Pass (from $99) includes visa fee waiver and entrance to 40+ sites including Petra - highly recommended!
Best time to visit: March to May and September to November. Summer (June-August) can be very hot. Winters are mild but evenings can be cold in the desert.
Local currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). ATMs widely available in cities. Credit cards accepted in hotels and larger restaurants. Carry cash for smaller shops and tips.
